Alicante Bouschet—valued for its intense color—was once widely planted in California during Prohibition, but now few acres remain across the state. Our Alicante Bouschet comes from a small vineyard in Sonoma Valley, the remnants of a once expansive field blend planted in 1910. These gnarled, majestic head-trained vines produce a fruit-forward, expressive wine that pays homage to California's history. Grapes are hand-harvested and aged in neutral French oak for 18 months.
Dried strawberry, candied fig, and bright red fruit dominate the 2024 vintage. Fine-grain tannins round out this rich, yet easy-drinking wine.
